Kwemima Naturals is a shop in Ongata Rongai, not a factory.
We make skincare and hair care from natural ingredients, and work with local artisans on handmade baskets and jewellery. Nothing here is mass-produced — most of it is made a few pieces at a time.
How we work
Most of what's in the shop is made in small batches rather than bulk — raw shea butter, black soap, hair oils, that kind of thing. It's slower, and it means we sometimes run low on something before the next batch is ready, but it's the only way to keep products like these close to how they're traditionally made.
The craft and gift side works with local artisans directly, rather than buying wholesale from a middleman. Baskets and jewellery are made using techniques that have been passed down rather than mass-manufactured, which is part of why no two pieces are quite identical.
We're based at Quickmart Building, Shop G8, in Ongata Rongai, and most orders are coordinated over WhatsApp — it's just faster than anything else for a shop this size.
